Recently I was sorting through the costumes I have made for my children over the years. Sorting and repacking them into a container where they could all be together.
As I held each costume up, it invoked memories that were multilayered. The satisfaction and joy on my child’s face - the anticipation of the event - but also what was going on in my life at the time I diligently sewed each stitch.
I was struck by all the creativity that was stuffed into one box, and oh one more thing - I was a very good sewer and creator of costumes! I was surprised at my own adeptness and level of skill. Aknowledging what you do well is a great thing!
So appreciate something that you do well. Think about all those latent skills that you haven’t used in years. Maybe it will provoke you to express yourself in a new or different way.
Beloved you are . . .
